Director of Strategic Accounts
JoBeth previously worked at White Oak Commercial Finance (formerly Capital Business Credit) in the Asset Based Lending division, where she focused on the luxury fashion space. As a third generation lender, JoBeth leveraged her lifelong appreciation of commercial lending to pioneer the New York City Fashion Production Fund, a public-private partnership between White Oak and the New York Economic Development Corporation to help support emerging designers based and producing in New York. While under her leadership the fund invested nearly $3.0 million dollars in short-term production financing. Ms. Abecassis graduated from Columbia University with a BA in Political Science.
EVP, Finance and Operations
Sharon has worked with a varied mix of esteemed brands and startup ventures in the fashion and beauty industries such as Hugo Boss and Reed Krakoff. Additionally, Sharon has been an executive consultant and acting CFO with numerous companies including La Perla, Ouidad and V&M (Vintage & Modern).
Director of Human Resources
Crystal brings over 8 years of leadership and people management experience having directed over 470 employees across the U.S. Crystal was instrumental in creating a balance between employee culture and business growth, helping to expand an elite fitness brand throughout the nation. Her knowledge in employee relations, professional development, training, talent acquisition, compensation, and benefits are instrumental in creating a strong foundation for Assembled Brands. Crystal holds a PHR from the Human Resources Certification Institute and a SHRM-CP from the Society of Human Resources Management.
Director of FP&A
Peter has worked in the fast paced environment of startups for the last 9 years. He was employee 28 at General Assembly and built out the Accounting and Finance Team as their Director. He helped grow the business and scale its infrastructure as it went through 30x Revenue growth over 4 years and grew the team to over 700 employees. He also ran his own consulting practice for 4 years and worked with over 50 different brands in that time, being exposed to all forms of industry from Saas Platforms to Music Publishing rights. Peter also loves to share his experiences with the community and often teaches a Financial Modeling Workshop with General Assembly or Guest Lectures with one of their many courses. He has a 5 year degree in Public Accounting from Pace University, Lubin School of Business.
Chairman and CEO
Adam is the Chairman and CEO of Assembled Brands, a holding company providing working capital and financial services to emerging brands. He is also a co-founder of General Assembly where during his tenure, prior to its acquisition by Addecco Group, he served as Chief Creative Officer, Chief Product Officer, and Chairman. For his entrepreneurial endeavors, Adam was featured in Forbes’ 30 Under 30, Vanity Fair’s The Next Establishment, Inc. Magazine’s 30 Under 30, and Business Insider’s Silicon Alley 100. Adam holds a BA from Columbia University where he studied Anthropology and Economics.
Executive Creative Director
Drawing upon her extensive experience with global fashion houses such as Altuzarra and Balenciaga, Vanessa provides creative leadership across TheLine.com, The Apartments (physical showrooms), Protagonist and is responsible for sourcing brands, boutiques, and talent for the group. Applying her experience as a stylist for publications including The New York Times Style Magazine, WSJ Magazine, and i-D, Vanessa plays a critical role working alongside our brand marketing, brand partnerships and brand creative directors on development and merchandising.
John leads the capital team for Assembled Brands. John has over 20 years experience with rapidly growing early stage companies. Most recently, John was the CFO of General Assembly where he helped raise over $100m. He has led or arranged numerous rounds of venture capital, private equity and debt financings, two initial public offerings, seven sales of secondary stock, fifteen acquisitions and the sale of four companies. John was notably CFO of Linden Lab, the makers of Second Life where he managed the world’s largest virtual economy. He also worked as an investment banker and as a management consultant earlier in his career, and got his start as an engineer in GE’s management training program. John holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Syracuse University, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University.
